Grinchathon Wrap Up

The Readathon: Grinchathon Books Read: 4 books read Pages Read: 1144 pages Success?: Yes! So this wrap up is a few days late, but oh well. This readathon was interesting in that I did not do a whole lot of reading what it was that I had actually put on my tbr. I read some awesome books this round and really loved all of it. I ended up reading four books in total, and while I would have loved to read more, I still had some things in my life that were going on and way too much procrastination, so I will definitely still take this all as a win. The first book I read was Ex-Mas by Kate Brian, to fulfill the "black and green challenge". This book was really cute with a road trip, and you can check out my review of it here. It was an awesome read and I really enjoyed it, and also one of the few actually Christmas things I did this year, what with being away at college. The second book I read was an ebook- United We Stand by Ally Carter. I have been reading the Ga

The Thing With Feathers Review

Title: The Thing with Feathers Author: McCall Hoyle Genre: Young Adult, Romance, Contemporary Trigger Warnings: Death of a parent My Rating: 5 Stars Synopsis Emilie Day believes in playing it safe: she's homeschooled, her best friend is her seizure dog, and she's probably the only girl in North Carolina who hasn't learned to swim. That safety ends when Emilie's mom enrolls her in public school. Soon, Emilie is paired with starting point guard Chatham York for a project on Emily Dickinson. Though she's thrilled when Chatham shows interest, there's a problem: she hasn't told anyone about her epilepsy. Review McCall Hoyle's The Thing with Feathers is a coming of age story about Emilie, a teenage girl who while dealing with public high school for the first time, matures and grows as she learns how to live with her epilepsy and grief. The portrayal of grief is very realistic and I have seen some of the issues Emilie faces

Grinchathon

I know that I have not been keeping up with this blog, but my first semester of college was crazy. I honestly was surprised at what I was able to get done relating to reading and writing, particularly when concerning Nanowrimo. Anyway, now that I'm back home for winter break, I'm trying to catch up on this blog to post once a week, or hopefully at least once every other week once the spring semester starts. This is my TBR for the Grinchathon readathon over on twitter at @Grinchathon ran by @punkrockgirlpa. I'm sure that I'll be posting some more readathon tbr's over the next few weeks because I am trying to read as much as possible before I have to go back to school. Grinchathon is relating to being a Grinch around the holiday season, and while I don't think this defines me, I really feel like I missed out on most of my holiday traditions since I was off at school. There are seven challenges for the weeklong readathon so in a week hopefully I'll be
