Biblio Games 2019 TBR

I've never participated in these biblio games before, but I am super excited for them! The theme is based on Sky High, which is a really cute movie that I first watched three years ago and would definitely recommend. The whole event seems huge and I seriously cannot wait for June and things to finally get kicked off! I'm also participating in A Game of Booksathon in June, and you can check out my tbr for that here. I decided to join the sidekicks for my team. It seemed to fit well, since I don't like the spotlight but I also am a rule follower. I've been participating in the discord chat some, and I can't wait for the month to begin. While I have a ton of books to try to read in June (both arcs I'm behind on and as many queer books as I can read for pride), I decided that for my tbr here, I'm just going to list what books I think I'm going to read that will fit these challenges. I am awful at trying to stick to a tbr, but I'm excited about mos

A Game of Booksathon TBR

I have never watched Game of Thrones, and I've never read any of the A Song of Ice and Fire books, which is why I was so glad to see this readathon! You can check out more information about the readathon here . I chose to be a part of House Greyjoy. Honestly, this was because Theon is one of the only characters I know, and his sister seems really cool. The only other characters I know are the Starks, which there were a bunch of people in. No idea what I'm in for on this, but it is still a really cool idea. The readathon has three rounds. Round one, which this post is about, runs from June 1 to July 1 and all of the challenges are primarily based on the house and the places.. There are eleven challenges in all. I'm going for the King/Queen level, which is completing eight to eleven of these categories. Like I say on most of my tbrs- I am really bad at actually sticking to whatever it is that I say I'm going to read. These books are likely to change. While I

Ten Years of Favorite Books

Welcome to this week's Top Ten Tuesday! This week, the topic is favorite books from the last ten years, including one from each year. This is a really cool idea, though it was interesting to see which years I struggled to come up with books for, since I did grow up significantly during this timeframe as I'm only nineteen now. So let's get started! Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly blog meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl 2019: Just for Clicks This book really fits in a modern day and I loved reading it so much. You can check out my book review here, but there were twists that were just foreshadowed enough to be a shock and still make sense. 2018: The Astonishing Color of After There is so much going on inside this story and I loved every single bit of it, especially as realities twisted and bits of the past were discovered in this exploration of culture and family. It is a little bit of a longer book, but is definitely worth the time to read it. 2017: They Both

They write music together, go everywhere together, and they know everything about the other. At least they did before Zari started dating Dion. The more Zari falls for Dion, the less she has time for anything else. At first, Clare chalks it up to a new and exciting relationship, and she tries to be happy for her friend despite her loneliness. When Zari starts to show up to school with half-hidden bruises, Clare knows there's something darker about this relationship that has to be stopped. Review A special thank you to Netgalley and West 44 Books for a free advance digital copy in exchange for an honest review. This verse novel follows the friendship of two girls despite the barriers

Page to Screen Adaptations

It's another Top Ten Tuesday Post! Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly blog meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl . I actually have an old post about adaptations here that you can check out, but for this freebie, I honestly ended up going really free on my list. Some of these following works, I have read and watched. Some I've only read. Some I've only watched and have been too afraid of expectations to start the book. So let's get into it now! 1. The Sun is Also A Star This movie comes out this weekend and honestly, I am just so freaking excited for it. I adored the book so much and definitely would recommend it to anyone and everyone. I'm not going to reread it before I see the movie or else I'll end up judging the movie mostly on differences from the book, but a reread is definitely in order at some point in the near future. 2. The Hunger Games I was in middle school when the trilogy and the first two movies were the hot stuff. Honestly, I was a little

Scripted Unscripted Review

Title: Scripted Unscripted Author: Kristina Miranda Genre: Young Adult, Contemporary, Romance Trigger Warning: Previous Character Death Rating: 4 stars Release Date: May 14 , 2 019 Synopsis Ellie Quinn has spent most of her sixteen years behind the scenes, helping her father manage a crew of four-legged movie stars. Although she longs to be acknowledged as an animal trainer in her own right, she often gets stuck babysitting actors’ personal pets and is known around the studio as “the dog sitter for the stars.” When teen megastar Kate Montgomery’s sidekick gets fired while filming a pilot, Ellie is forced to temporarily fill-in. The producers seem to be enamored with Ellie—and so do Kate’s two love interests on the show, “it boy” Logan Canfield and brand-new actor Cam Alvarez—causing trouble on and off the

Then Elm pushes Olivia to share her identity and sends her a selfie of his own. Olivia is shocked by how cute he is! In a moment of panic, assuming she and Elm will never meet in real life, she sends a photo of her gorgeous friend Katie. Characters I Relate To

I'm finally off hiatus and back to Top Ten Tuesday! This week's prompt is characters that remind me of myself. Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly blog meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl . This is not a completely straightforward prompt for me, since I find myself in small ways in most characters. While I cannot come up with characters that I feel like I completely relate to, I tried to find the top ten characters that I relate the most with, particularly in my first experience of reading the particular book that the character is from. 1. Annabeth Chase from Percy Jackson and the Olympians Honestly, this is the character who I wanted to be when I was younger and I love her so much. I literally thought about being her for Halloween one year. Smart with major focusing issues? That is seriously all that I do. Also design is super cool, and well I don't pretend to be as good as Annabeth, I still find this type of thinking interesting. I'm not good at drawing, but my mi

Scallywag A Thon TBR

What's better than pirates? Space pirates. And what's better than space pirates? Clearly Scallywag A Thon, a pirate themed readathon that is based on space pirates this year. I just found out about it last week, but Scallywag A Thon starts tomorrow and runs May 5-12. There are multiple paths to take along the map to find where X marks the treasure. In order to make it to the X, there are at least four challenges to complete. You can check out the map here if you are interested in joining me in this quest! This was my first readathon making a bullet journal spread for. I'm actually considering making a post about my starting to bullet journal, but I thought it was fun to create a spread for this readathon, despite my lackluster artistic abilities. Fair warning, I do have problems sticking to a TBR, so this is likely to not end up being what I actually read during the readathon. I definitely have mood reading tendencies. For my starting point, I chose the nu
