It's the first Top Ten Tuesday of April! I for one am really looking forward to this month, even though I do have a lot going on. I like being busy in fun ways and actually manage my time better when I have stuff going on but am not overwhelmed. Things are already starting to look better outside with springtime. The prompt this week is things that make me pick up a book. This is a little open ended, but not as much as last week, which was an audio freebie. Anyway, I decided to go with both physical things that I see when browsing and also when other people talk about and recommend a book and what of those things help me to choose to read that book. When I'm at the library and picking out books to read, I pick out based on the spines and covers before reading the synopsis to see if that's the book for me. I'm back with another post about Camp Nanowrimo, this one mostly on time! I just have to say that I am glad that Camp Nanowrimo isn't this much because I have had so much that is going on this month. I've been working on planning while trying to get ahead on other stuff to have more time for writing in April. Planning, Plantsing, and Pantsing Before planning, you first have to decide how much you want to plan, if even at all. Some people will have nothing prepared for April. Others will have enough paper to write a dissertation on their future novel that they will be writing. There is no wrong way to do it. This is all about what is best for your personal preferences. I have prepared stuff in a variety of ways, but through trial and error, I have found I really need to have some stuff that is written down, especially in terms of names and knowing in general what has to happen next. How to Make Your Goal Camp Nanowrimo is a lot more flexible than Nanowrimo. In the November challenge, your set goal is 50,000 words. Sure, some people have individual goals, especially the overachievers (in the Beyond 50k forum ) but this is what is officially winning. In Camp, your goal can be set in words, hours, minutes, lines, and pages. This leads to a variety of projects and stages within those projects. Writing a screenplay? A goal in lines might be ideal. Planning and editing are good to measure in time, but some people may use pages. Everything is literally up to you. In 2018, I managed to read a total of 67 books. When I told my sister this, she frowned and told me that that seemed awfully low. While I set my goal for one book higher than this for the new year (link to goals post here), I also read some incredible books in 2018. These are all found on my favorites books on goodreads, but I only included the ones that I read in the first time in 2018, which totaled to 9 books. While I would have preferred a top 10 list, a top 9 list will just have to do. These books are all books that made my feel. Most of them had tears and gasps, but I thoroughly enjoyed all of them and knew that they had to go onto my favorites shelf. Hey all! Day 1 of Bout of Books is over! If you want to know what I was planning to read, check out my tbr  here. The challenge for Day 1 was #insixwords. I chose "Winter Break: it's time to read" for my six words. I felt like it described what I'm doing right now, since I am fortunate enough not to have classes start until next week. The Instagram photo challenge for today was currently reading. I don't have an Instagram, but here is my picture for this challenge: I actually ended up listening to 5 hours 26 minutes of The Last Olympian by Rick Riordan, which I did not plan to. I probably with listen to some more today, so I will almost certainly finish this audiobook by the end of the week, and hopefully get started on another as well. I forgot how awful some of the voices chosen are, especially the racist choices like for Ethan Nakamora. Also, I swear too many of these characters are British. It's finally July 1st (I started writing this at 12:04 AM so...) and that means many things. One of those such things is pretty obvious from the title of this blogpost- alphabethon just started. But July is so much more than that. July also includes: Camp Nanowrimo! Yes, I'm participating in that too, even though July is one of the busiest months of the year for me. I don't expect to do so well on that, but hey, at least I finally got back to this blog. My birthday! Which, does not actually say much. I'm turning 19 in five days and don't want a party, not even for family. I don't even want gifts really. My last fair. The 4H part of my life was a big deal, and it is going to be all over after this month. That's a little depressing. Today is also going to be the third consectuitive day in the 90s.
