I have never watched Game of Thrones, and I've never read any of the A Song of Ice and Fire books, which is why I was so glad to see this readathon! You can check out more information about the readathon here.
I chose to be a part of House Greyjoy. Honestly, this was because Theon is one of the only characters I know, and his sister seems really cool. The only other characters I know are the Starks, which there were a bunch of people in. No idea what I'm in for on this, but it is still a really cool idea.
The readathon has three rounds. Round one, which this post is about, runs from June 1 to July 1 and all of the challenges are primarily based on the house and the places.. There are eleven challenges in all. I'm going for the King/Queen level, which is completing eight to eleven of these categories.
Like I say on most of my tbrs- I am really bad at actually sticking to whatever it is that I say I'm going to read. These books are likely to change. While I hope to have a high number of books read this month, I will double up a book for challenges. The group book is A Game of Thrones, which I'll be trying my best to finish, but I didn't include it below because it's so long.
- The Game of Thrones: First book in a series/trilogy: Of Fire and Stars by Audrey Coulthurst
- House Targaryen: Book with a mythical creature or dragons: The Forbidden Wish by Jessica Khoury
- Daenerys: Book featuring a strong female character: The Miseducation of Cameron Post by Emily M. Danforth
- Westeros: Book set in a fictional place: Girls of Paper and Fire by Natasha Ngan
- House Tyrell: Book with a plant on the cover or green cover: Tessa Masterson Will Go to Prom by Emily Franklin and Brendan Halpin
- House Stark: Book that has a family dynamic or siblings: I'll Give You The Sun by Jandy Nelson
- House Lannister: Book with a red cover: Anyone but the Earl by Irene Davis
- House Greyjoy: Book with pirates or a story set at sea (I have to find one, oops)
- House Baratheon: Book with a king or queen/royalty: The Princess and the Fangirl by Ashley Poston
- A Clash of Kings: Sequel: The Last of August by Brittany Cavallaro
- Wildings: Paranormal: (again, not sure. I have a few books that might? Maybe?)
So these are the books I think I'm reading for A Game of Booksathon! I'm also participating in the biblio games. My tbr for that will hopefully be up by the end of the month.
What are you planning on reading? Be sure to let me know in the comments (and don't be afraid to drop links!)
Thanks for reading! Let's get all of these books read!
