Young Adult Romance Recommendations

It's time for another Top Ten Tuesday! I had a lot of fun and an easy time writing this post, and I can't wait to see how everyone else ended up taking this prompt in their own direction.

As soon as I saw this, I knew that I would be making a list of my top ten books in young adult romance. I did go a little back and forth between contemporary and romance, but narrowing it down to romance made it easier to come up with a list of only ten books. These books are in no particular order, because it would seriously be far too hard to try to sort through all of these books, all that I absolutely love.

So let's get started! These are books that I would definitely recommend for anyone who read young adult romances. They are so cute and you will definitely end up shipping the couples in the end.

  1. Catching Jordan is the first young adult romance book I ever read and definitely the reason why I fell in love with the genre. Also, so many of the other Hundred Oaks books are amazing and should not be missed as well
  2. Who I Kissed is my favorite book by Janet Gurtler. It starts with a boy
dying from a peanut allergy after kissing Sam, the main character. The book deals with the fallout and Sam's emotions are really strong and powerful, especially because she isn't perfect and makes realistic mistakes.
  3. How To Say I Love You Out Loud was my favorite book for a while as
Jordyn finally finds her voice to speak up and lose some of her nearly constant fear. If there's one thing I get, that's fear of judgement and speaking up. Also, she grows a ton as a person and has a much better relationship with her autistic brother by the end.
  4. They Both Die At The End completely destroyed me in all the best
ways. I cried a lot. Even though I read this book a year and a half ago, it still seems impossible to form a comprehensible thought beyond I loved this book and I love Mateo and Rufus.
  5. History is All You Left Me is another amazing Adam Silvera book. The
cross between past and present was amazing and a lot of it made me cry, though the ending was happier than I expected, though still full of sadness.
  6. The Sun is Also a Star has one of my favorite tropes- falling in love in a
single day. This book has one of the best follow throughs and I love Natasha and Daniel so much. I still haven't had the chance to see the movie, but I can't wait to see this movie, though I am a little afraid of my expectations for it.
  7. To All the Boys I've Loved Before has another amazing trope- that of
fake dating. It is amazingly carried out and I love the growth that Lara Jean goes through.
  8. Tell Me Three Things is one of my more recent reads on this list, but it
is absolutely amazing and has the great trope of a mystery romance where you don't know who Jessie is actually falling in love with. This book was really cute and there were a lot of different tropes that went very right.
  9. The Thing with Feathers also one of the more stereotypical romances,
but it is still absolutely amazing to read. It definitely is worth your time in checking out. Emilie has epilepsy and many other issues, but this is her first time going to public school, which while stereotypical is very cute and has great Emily Dickinson quotes.
  10. Just for Clicks might technically be more contemporary instead of
romance, but I love the romance in the book so much and I just had to include it. Claire is adorable and there are a lot of amazing twists that I didn't see coming.

These are my top ten books of the young adult romance genre! Do you enjoy this genre? What are some of your favorites? Be sure to let me know in the comments.

Thanks for reading!
Alyssa

    1. Yeah, I'm lucky enough to have a good library and a book warehouse sale to find some of the less popular books. All of these are different which is my favorite part of the genre

Unique Settings

Last week, I ran out of time to do my Top Ten Tuesday post, but I still loved the prompt of settings that I'd like to see more of. Since this week was a freebie, I decided to go ahead and do this prompt. Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together. The books I have read from these books have been absolutely amazing in the majority of circumstances, but there needs to be so much more, especially in traditional publishing for a wide range of audiences, though some of these are best suited to YA or NA. So, let's get started! 4H- I spent twelve years as a member of local 4H, and I have only read one book that ever had showing livestock at a county fair as a plotline. It was amazing, but I haven't seen this aspect of my life in any other book. I have a few ideas based on my experiences

August Six Degrees

I recently discovered the Six Degrees of Separation meme for book blogs, and it looks like a lot of fun, so I decided to start this month, and see how it goes! This month's prompt is a wild card. Since I didn't do this last month, I'm starting with the book that I'm currently in the middle of- The Red Pyramid by Rick Riordan. First Link: The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan These books are both by the same author, but also they are both the books that got me into that specific type of mythology in the first place, both Greek and Egyptian. I've learned so much after becoming interested based on these books in the first place. Second Link: Pandora Gets Jealous by Carolyn Hennesy Both of these books are takes on Greek mythology. Percy Jackson is modern day, but Pandora is set back then. Still, the main characters are both awesome and their interactions with the Greek gods and other Greek mythical beings are just amazing. Third Link: The Frog Princess

Anticipated Releases

Welcome back to another week of Top Ten Tuesday! Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by  That Artsy Reader Girl with prompts every week! This one was surprisingly hard for me, maybe because I'm not really in the middle of any great series right now and all of the authors I read a lot aren't releasing this fall. I did include multiple books that I already got from Netgalley but they have not yet come out and I am behind but I still want to read them because I'm excited about their potential and hope that they are as amazing as I wish. So let's get started! Of Ice and Shadows by Audrey Coulthurst- Mare and Denna are an amazing sapp hic couple. I loved Of Ice and Shadows, and I absolutely cannot wait to read the sequel, but I have to. I am really excited for this book. Girls of Storm and Shadow by Natasha Ngan- I got my sister the first book for Christmas and still haven't read it, but this is another amazing sapphic series that I need to read. My sister loved
